IT System / Network Administrator

This dynamic, growing organization is currently recruiting for an IT System / Network Administrator. We are looking to grow our team with people who share our energy and enthusiasm for creating the best experience for our customers.

iFinance Canada Inc. is a national consumer financing company  that’s offered  an array of financing to Canadians since 1996.

Key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Assist in the administration, monitoring and maintenance of iFinance systems (Toronto, Vancouver and Quebec) including:
    • Network Switches (Cisco)
    • Windows Servers
    • User workstations, accounts, and permissions
  • Provide primary support for Information Technology needs.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve technical problems that affect the availability and functionality of network components and data.
  • Setup and configure workstations for new employees.
  • Update and maintain supporting documentation/manuals as appropriate for the systems.
  • Liaise with third party support as needed.
  • Liaise with IT Development and DBA with the troubleshooting and installation of in-house applications.
  • Assist with technology projects as needed

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Working knowledge of:
    • Windows Server, Windows Pro and MS Office Suites
    • CISCO Switches
    • Network administration
    • Firewalls
    • Virtualization (VMWare)
    • Powershell and windows scripting
    • VEEAM Backup and Replication
  • A minimum of one to three years of work experience in a HelpDesk or equivalent role.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Self motivated with a strong ability to multitask, prioritize and stay organized.
  • English/French bilingualism is an asset but not required.

Education/ Knowledge / Certification in the following areas an asset:

  • Network+ or CISCO certification (or desire to work toward)
  • Mac OS
  • Storage Management
  • ZERTO Backup and Recovery
  • Fortigate firewalls
  • Linux / Unix
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Microsoft Hyper V-Virtualization
  • MSP, A+, Network+, CCNA are assets.
  • Diploma : Information technology, computer networking, or computer science. We do consider/accept equivalent work experience/certifications in place of a formal diploma.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one to three years of work experience in a HelpDesk or equivalent role.

Must be willing to work a full range of shifts.  The business operates Monday to Friday 8:30am – 9:00pm EST, Saturday 10:00am – 6:00pm EST and Sunday 10:00am – 5:00pm EST.  Shifts will typically be scheduled during the Monday to Friday operating hours with maintenance, project and support availability required on a rotational basis outside of those hours.

This is an excellent, full time permanent position with a well known company. The position is located in Yorkville (Bay /Bloor) and is easily accessible by TTC.

COVID-19 considerations:

We are looking to hire as soon as we find the right candidate. As a deemed essential service business, on-boarding will be done as a mix of safe and socially distant training in office (with masks and gloves provided if needed) and remote sessions (remote trainers contacting the new employee in the office).  It is most likely that subsequent to initial training and demonstration of capability that the position will evolve into work from home while our office continues to be on minimal staffing. This position would then be work-from-home temporarily (pandemic-related) and would transition to our office location in the future
